Nano ceramic resin from Elecolo, specially created to adhere to metal through the process of electroplating, gives jewelry an intense, metallic color but also protection against oxidation.
In addition to adding color, electroplating can also be used to seal and protect jewelry against oxidation, using Transparent Nano Ceramic Resin. After coating, the product is protected from oxidation, and the color does not become cloudy and is resistant to wear, so it is possible to keep the product as it is for a semi-permanent time.
In addition, since colors can be mixed as a characteristic of liquids, it is possible to create original colors.
Electroplating, or ceramic electrodeposition coating, is a new processing method that uses electrical pressure to coat metals. The process is widely used today, in the automotive industry but also in shipbuilding and aerospace. The coloring (painting) of metals using electroplating is very advantageous because the deposited film is extremely thin but also resistant.
Important to know!
- Before applying the resin through the electroplating process, it is important that the part is optimally finished and polished. The applied color does not hide the defects, on the contrary, they will be seen more clearly.
- The colors are not opaque. If we apply the pink color to the copper, it will be slightly darker than the shade of pink applied to the silver.
To apply the Elecolo resin the steps will be followed:
1. Use the powder in the sachet to degrease the part. Fill the container with water so that it does not cover the highest point of the metal plate inside. Then add a teaspoon of degreasing powder and mix well. Connect the red clamp to the metal in the water container and the black clamp to the wire support created to hold the part in the solution. Then switch the large knob to 12V mode and insert the part into the water in the container. Press the ON button and hold for 15 to 1 minute for deep cleaning. Rinse the piece in water without touching it with your hand.
Cleaning can also be done with alcohol or electrolytic water (as in the video)
2. Choose the desired color and connect the red cable to the plate inside the colored resin container and the black cable to the metal support that supports the cleaned part

3. Turn the large knob to 60V mode and insert the part into the resin. Press the ON button and keep it pressed for a few minutes. As a reference, hold 2-5 minutes for one ring.
4. After electroplating, rinse the part in a bowl of water without touching it
4. After electroplating, rinse the part in a bowl of water without touching it
5. Prepare a wire support for the part (see video) so that it supports it without too much contact between the part and the wire. Transfer the already electroplated part to this support.
6. Place the piece on the support in an oven and heat at 150°C - 160°C for 15 to 30 minutes.
It is recommended to use a mask and protective gloves during the electroplating process.
