Essential jewelry kit Metal Clay I

Artkimia – Essential jewelry kit Metal Clay I is the kit used in the course Initiation in jewelry Metal Clay I. This kit contains everything you need to create your first silver jewelry.

Included in the kit you will find 1 pack of 20g silver clay, Art Clay brand. To give the shape and texture of the jewelry we included a texture and a pattern with a teardrop pattern. In addition to the raw material, you will also find useful tools for modeling (roll, spacers, Teflon sheets) and cutting clay. You will finish the jewelry using the three abrasive sponges. They are used in the order: red, blue and green. We recommend that you cut them into several pieces and use separate sponges at raw finish (dry stage) and post-combustion finishing. We recommend that you use the manual drill after you have dried the part well. Do not press while drilling, the weight of the drill is enough and the drill does all the work.

To place or remove the piece from the steel mesh, use the tweezers included in the kit. You can read more about burning on the stove many here. After burning, the piece will be white, which is absolutely normal. This is how we see it white, when in fact, the metal is crystallized, porous and reflects light from all angles, giving us the impression that it is white.

To give the piece shine, you will first use the brush with steel bristles, with which you will rub very well on all surfaces of the piece. Then you will finish using abrasive sponges and then you will apply the patina (more here), if you like. To partially remove the patina, use the green sponge. More you can find it here.  To highlight certain areas of the piece, by creating strong sparkles, you will use the right burner. Do not use the tip but the flat parts of the burner. How do you use it? Simply by rubbing.
