IIntroduction to Jewelry Metal Clay Basic is a course dedicated to beginners, in which the basic techniques for creating jewelry are taught using the revolutionary silver material called metal clay. 

What is the revolutionary and ecological material, metal clay? How you can create jewelry using metal clay? Where it comes from metal clay? How many types/kinds of metal clay there is also what they can be used for.

In this course you will learn the answers to all these essential questions and the know-how to create three pieces of silver jewelry: a pair of earrings, a pendant and a ring with the stone. You will deepen essential techniques in creating jewelry using silver clay, in various forms: silver clay variant, paste and syringe, but also wooden clay. Wooden clay is used to make jewelry with volume, hollow inside.

The instructor will introduce you to basic modeling techniques such as texturing, shaping and decorating clay, along with different methods of firing, cleaning and polishing. You will learn how to decorate with the syringe and paste, how to shape the clay and how to incorporate the stones, hooks or rings.
The price includes approximately 25 grams of silver (clay, paste and syringe) and you are provided with the use of the necessary tools and equipment.

  2. Jewelery with volume (hollow inside) – Pendant or earrings, created with a syringe (Syringe, Wood clay, Paste)

    • Using the syringe tips
    • Wood clay - modeling and drying
    • Lace decoration method
    • Finishing before burning
    • Burning of parts with volume - temperature and positioning in the furnace
    • Magnetic grinding
  3. The ring (Clay, Pasta, Syringe, stone incorporated in clay)

    • How do we measure ourselves, right
    • Tools used in creating rings
    • Calculation methods for the ring size before creation and depending on the applied design (texture, stone)
    • Attaching a stone and its influence on the size of the ring - before burning
    • Burning of the rings
    • Adjusting the size of a ring after burning
    • Finishing and skating of the rings

We usually have a few jewelry designs by default but we encourage everyone who attends the courses to be creative. Only, in the end, the jewel will belong! Consult the instructor beforehand, he will guide you to which models you can apply at this level of course, using strictly the techniques mentioned above.

At the end of the Workshop, participants will receive a diploma that will certify the level completed.

This course is a necessary one to continue towards Art Clay 1, 2 and Instructor Certification courses.

Daniel Voicu is a trainer at Artkimia, where she coordinates courses dedicated to beginners in Traditional Jewelry and Metal ClayWith a calm and patient presence, he creates an ideal environment for learning, providing attentive support and clear explanations, adapted to the pace and needs of each learner.

Joined the team Artkimia in 2018, and since then he has constantly cultivated his passion for jewelry, deepening both traditional techniques and contemporary approaches to working with metal. He is a certified jeweler in the profession recognized by the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of National Education and also holds certification from the National Authority for Qualifications (ANC) for carrying out professional training activities.

His works are characterized by precise forms, defined by sharp angles and clean lines, and explore subtle, carefully balanced contrasts. His style reflects a well-constructed harmony between technical rigor and artistic expressiveness.

With a solid understanding of materials and processes, Daniel is a trusted guide for anyone entering the world of jewelry for the first time.
