SILCOR 501 – Cyanide-free silver plating solution for electroplating bath

SILCOR 501 is a professional, ready-to-use solution for bath electroplating, formulated without cyanide.

It allows for obtaining a very white and bright silver layer, with a high quality deposit and can be used both for decorative deposits and for deposits with a thickness of up to approximately 10 microns.

For silver plating of copper or nickel alloys, SILCOR 501 is used after pretreatment with SILCOR 501P. After the silver has been deposited, the process must be continued with the fixing treatment SILCOR 501D.

SILCOR 501 is classified as dangerous chemical product. May cause severe skin burns and eye damage, may harm the unborn child and is very toxic to the aquatic environment. Use should only be carried out with appropriate protective equipment and in compliance with the instructions in the Safety Data Sheet. The Berkem SDS explicitly states "Restricted to professional users".

Store in the original container, tightly closed, in a dry and ventilated place, at temperatures between 10–30°C.

The product contains precious metal, and the price may vary depending on the daily silver price.

Important: immediately after deposition in SILCOR 501, the piece may temporarily have a blue/bluish tint. This is part of the process; the final silver-white color is achieved after treatment with SILCOR 501D

Recommended system for copper or nickel alloys:
SILCOR 501P → rinse → SILCOR 501 → two rinses with cold demineralized water → SILCOR 501D → rinse
